Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve opening/closing time controller capable of surely preventing the generation of hammering sounds by a vane and a starting failure at the time of starting an internal combustion engine and expanding a variable control region.
SOLUTION: A mechanism for holding the relative phases of a rotary shaft (internal rotor 20) and a rotation transmitting member (external rotor 30 or the like) is provided with a regulating part formed in the side wall part (front plate 40) of the rotation transmitting member and extended outward in the diameter direction of the rotary shaft, a locking groove having a fan-like guiding part 41 expanded and extended from the outer end of the diameter direction in the diameter direction, a locking member (locking pin 60) having a locking part 60a disposed to be movable outward in the diameter direction of the rotary shaft by the fluid pressure of at least one of lagging and advancing chambers in interpolation spaces 28 and 29 formed in a vane disposed in a fluid pressure chamber where the locking groove is formed, extended in an axial direction and fitted in the regulating part to hold the relative phases of the rotation transmitting member and the rotary shaft, and a pressing means (spring 61) for pressing this member inward in the diameter direction of the rotary shaft.
