Abstract:

To intend to be consistent with restraining particles contained in exhaust gas from increasing in quantity in that case and restraining an engine from badly effecting to improve fuel consumption while restraining knocking exactly.

The knocking is restrained by angle of delay of ignition timing when amount of particulates (the amount of particle) during exhaust is below allowance value, and at the same time rise in exhaust temperature is restrained by increasing in quantity of fuel injection. In this case, valve timing of an intake valve 20 is changed in order to restrain the knocking and thereby, hardly influencing the fuel consumption. On the other hand, the knocking is restrained by delaying angle relative to the valve timing of the intake valve 20 when the amount of the particulates during the exhaust is greater than the allowance value. In this case, the amount of the particulates during the exhaust does not increase by similar increase in quantity without increasing quantity of the fuel injection for restraining the rise in the exhaust temperature in accordance with the angle of the delay, because the angle of the delay of the ignition timing for restraining the knocking is not performed.
