PURPOSE: To obtain a method for controlling an air curtain in a sky house in which flow-out of flue dust can be completely prevented even if rising force of the dust is temporarily intensified and an air amount mixed with the dust in the house can be reduced as compared with that when a large quantity of the air is always diffused.
CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling an air curtain in an opening 21 for passing a bucket lifting cable of a sky house 11 for enclosing a melting furnace comprises the step of detecting flue dust to tend to flow out from the opening 21 by a sensor 31 disposed oppositely to the opening. Actuators 71a, 71b mounted at air diffusers 61a, 61b for the curtain A are operated based on its detected value through an arithmetic unit 41 to regulate openings and/or angles of the diffusers 61a, 61b or to regulate a rotating speed of a fan 5 for the curtain A based on the detected value through the unit 41.
