A gripper feeder 100 is the conveyance device for conveying a plate-like material 300 toward the press and is provided with a gripper part 111 for nipping and holding the material 300 from front and rear sides of the material, a servo motor 112 and a ball screw 113 for moving the gripper part 111 in the direction of main surface of the material 300, a gripper part 121 for nipping and holding the material 300 from front and rear sides of the material, and a servo motor 122 and a ball screw 123 for moving the gripper part 121 in the direction of main surface of the material 300. Here, after moving the gripper part 111 nipping and holding the material 300 by the servo motor 112 and the ball screw 113, the gripper part 121 nipping and holding the material 300 is moved by the servo motor 122 and the ball screw 123.
