The conveying device is provided with the trough extending to the horizontal direction and conveying conveyance articles, a link mechanism for supporting the trough and horizontally reciprocating the trough at different speeds such that the drive speeds of forward motion and return motion vary with each other and a drive means for driving the link mechanism. A weight detector for detecting the weight of the conveyance articles on the trough is provided. Based on output from the weight detector, the flow rate of the conveyance articles is detected.
