Abstract:

To enable conveyance by efficiently sucking a sheet S1 without causing wrinkles on a whole surface of the sheet S1.

A conveying device 1 with a trunk 33 for sucking and conveying a sheet S1 includes: suction areas VA1, VA2 and VA3 having a plurality of suction holes 33h formed on whole surfaces of a peripheral surface of support surfaces 33d, 33e, and 33f that are provided on a trunk 33 and supports the sheet S1, and for sucking the whole surface of the sheet S1; a plurality of suction units VA1k, VA1, and VA1h for splitting the suction area into multiple pieces; a switching unit 90 provided between the plurality of suction units VA1k, VA1m, VA1h and a negative pressure source, and for switching connection of the negative pressure source to each of the suction parts VA1k, VA1m, and VA1h; and a control unit 81 for individually controlling the suction by the plurality of the suction units VA1k, VA1m, and VA1h through the switching unit 90 based on the size of the sheet S1.
