To provide an image forming apparatus for correcting a light quantity of a laser beam that exposes a photoreceptor by a simple configuration.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit 101; a photosensitive drum 102 that is exposed by a laser beam; and an optical scanning device 104. The optical scanning device 104 includes: a printer image controller 904 and a laser driver IC 400. The laser driver IC 400 corrects the light quantity of the laser beam to become a setting reference based on: a first correction data used to correct the optical characteristics of the optical member in a scanning direction to scan the photosensitive drum 102; and a second correction data that are created corresponding to each of a plurality of areas of the surface of a photoreceptor and used to correct the potential characteristics of each area concerned.
