PURPOSE: To improve the thermal efficiency of a cooler and heater apparatus by reducing the size of piping and that of a heat exchanger, decreasing power consumption of a refrigerant circulating pump and diminishing a refrigerant circulating power.
CONSTITUTION: A cooler and heater apparatus comprises a heat engine body A to be operated by external heat or power and having a heat dissipating heat exchanger 7 and a heat absorbing heat exchanger 9 in such a manner that the exchanger 7 and 9 are connected to an indoor or outdoor side heat exchanger 10 and an indoor or outdoor side heat exchanger 11 in a closed circulating cycle state via pipings 12a-12d having refrigerant circulating pumps 13, 14, wherein heat is conveyed by utilizing latent heat of refrigerant flowing through the pipings 12a-12d.
