Title:
COOLING CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005256642
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a cooling control device for an internal combustion engine controlling a motor to compensate predetermined cooling capacity to the internal combustion engine even if the capacity of the motor fluctuates due to the variation of environmental temperature or the like.

The engine 2 is provided with a cooling device for cooling the engine 2 by circulating cooling water between a radiator 5 and the engine 2 by an electric water pump 6 driven by a pump driving motor. An ECU 26 computes basic output Pb(%) which is a duty ratio to be outputted to the pump driving motor, assuming capacity at a control reference temperature Tf from a map stored in a ROM 29 according to a water temperature thw, then estimates a motor temperature Tm, computes the temperature difference Ts from the control reference temperature Tf, determines an output correction factor V from the map, based on the temperature difference Ts, and corrects the basis output Pb(%). Consequently, even if the capacity of the pump driving motor fluctuates due to the variation of temperature, the electric water pump 6 can be driven with discharge corresponding to the requested cooling capacity.
