Abstract:
To provide a cooling device for an internal combustion engine capable of estimating durability of a control valve.SOLUTION: A cooling device 20 comprises: a drive time stress calculation section 62 which calculates drive time stress that a gear undergoes when displacing a valve body with driving force of a motor 37 on a control valve 26; a stress with rapid speed reduction calculation section 59 which calculates stress with rapid speed reduction, the stress that the gear undergoes due to a rapid reduction in a displacement speed of the valve body, when the valve body is determined to undergo the rapid reduction in the displacement speed; and a durability estimation section 60 which estimates durability of the control valve 26 on the basis of: a product of either one of the drive time stress or the stress with rapid speed reduction and an equivalent transformation coefficient; and the other stress thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
