Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of cooling and solidifying molten slag and equipment for it with high operating capacity by which cooled slag can easily be peeled off and thermal energy of the discharged slag can be recovered. SOLUTION: In this process where molten slag is fed and adheres to the outer surface of the cooled cylindrical rotors and the cooled slag is peeled off and discharged, slag 51 adhering to the cylindrical rotors 11a and 11b is peeled off at the point of reaching the uncoupled point F maintaining the slag temperature in such level as the slag is in plastic state, then the peeled slag 52 is cooled and disintegrated at the stage that the temperature of the cooled slag becomes below the glass transition point, and the disintegrated slag is introduced into a heat recovery equipment 40 and thermal energy is recovered from the disintegrated slag by flowing gaseous heat carrier.
