Title:
COORDINATE INPUT DEVICE AND DISPLAY INTEGRATED TYPE COORDINATE INPUT DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3394187
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable pointing with a cordless pen and a finger.
SOLUTION: During a coordinate detection period, a first electrode driving circuit 32 successively selects source electrodes Sn of a TFT liquid crystal panel 31 and connects them to an X signal current amplifier circuit 34 and impresses an AC voltage to unselected electrodes. The X signal current amplifier circuit 34 detects the detection current, which flows to the selected electrode, of a level corresponding to a distance with the finger (or conductor pen) and obtains an X coordinate detection voltage. A second electrode driving circuit 33 and a Y signal current amplifier circuit 35 are similarly operated to provide a Y coordinate detection voltage. Based on the X and Y coordinate detection voltages, a coordinate detecting circuit 36 finds the (x) and (y) coordinates of an instructed position. Thus, pointing with the cordless pen and the finger is enabled.
