Title:
COPPER ALLOY EXCELLENT IN INTERMEDIATE TEMPERATURE BRITTLENESS RESISTANCE, ANNEALING BRITTLENESS RESISTANCE AND CORROSION RESISTANCE AND HEAT EXCHANGER TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1046270
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To avoid the brittleness of a copper alloy in intermediate temps. by specifying the components therein.

This alloy contains, by weight, 76 to 79% Cu, 1.8 to 2.5% Al, 0.02 to 0.60% As, 0.005 to 0.05% Zr, and the balance Zn or the like. Al forms firm corrosion resistant coating, and As has the operation of suppressing dezincing corrosion in the alloy material. Then, particularly, Zr contributes to the refining of the crystal grains and the suppression of embrittlement by the capture of S as impurities and supersaturated hydrogen without deteriorating the corrosion resistance of the alloy material. For furthermore suppressing the brittling phenomenon, preferably, the content of S is limited to ≤0.0001% and H to ≤0.00005% in the alloy.
