Abstract:
PURPOSE: To inhibit unlimited alterations on the side of a copying machine and to properly control communication control data by setting line information and check information for calling and data transfer, required by a copying machine communication control means, from the side of a host computer.
CONSTITUTION: The modem board 900 of the copying machine 100 when receiving a command from the host computer(HC) 999 through a public telephone line 908 decides its kind. When the command indicates data setting, the board 900 informs the HC 999 that data are already set when so and discards the command, but when not, the command is set in its internal RAM. The set data can be initialized with a switch, etc., attached to the board 900 and also set again thereafter with communication control data from the HC 999. Consequently, the unlimited alterations on the side of the copying machine 100 are inhibited and the line information and check information can properly be set and controlled from the HC 999 at a control point.
