Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for purifying 0-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2-naphthyl)- chlorothioformate which is a compound useful as an intermediate for agricultural chemicals or medicines to high purity.
CONSTITUTION: Crude 0-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2-naphthyl)-chlorothioformate is subjected to vacuum distillation by heating at <250°C under vacuum conditions of &1 mmHg in a short time using a molecular distillation device, a thin-film distillation device, etc. Thereby, the objective 0-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2-naphthyl)- chlorothioformate of ≥99% purity can be obtained.
