Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cordierite sintered compact and a dielectric resonator capable of improving firing condition while keeping excellent properties that relative dielectric constant is ≤6 and Q value in 10GHz measuring frequency is equal to or above that of a cordierite glass ceramic.
SOLUTION: This cordierite sintered compact contains cordierite as an essential component and 0.1-15wt.% Ca and/or Ba in total expressed in terms of CaO and BaO. In this dielectric resonator formed by fixing a dielectric porcelain 1 through supporting member 2 on a substrate 3, the substrate 3 and/or the supporting member 2 contain cordierite as the essential component and 0.1-15wt.% Ca and/or Ba in total expressed in terms of CaO and BaO.
