Abstract:
To provide a cornice preventing device for preventing the formation of cornice by simple structure.
The cornice preventing device (10) comprises a panel (12) having an inner surface (12a) and an outer surface (12b), and mounting members (14) for mounting the panel to a building so that a predetermined clearance is formed between the panel and the outer edge of a roof of the building and that the inner surface or the lower half of the inner surface forms an acute angle with respect to the roof face. A wind colliding with the inner surface blows downward through the clearance to blow away snow lying near the outer edge of the roof, thus preventing the formation of cornice.
