To provide a door closer simple in constitution with excellent appearance and capable of temporarily regulating operation in a closing direction of a door when the door is opened.
The door closer for energizing the door in the closing direction is provided with a door closer body 3 mounted to the door. The door closer body 3 comprises a hydraulic cylinder 11; a piston 14 mounted in the hydraulic cylinder 11 in a state of being energized by an elastic body 12, and provided with a gear part 13 indented on the outer peripheral part; a gear body 15 pivoted to the hydraulic cylinder 11 and meshed with the gear part 13 of the piston 14 to slide the piston 14; and a regulating means 21 for temporarily regulating the rotation of the gear body 13 when the door is opened.
