Abstract:

To provide production methods that can efficiently produce tomatidine or esculeogenin in a simple industrial process, and products that include the produced tomatidine or esculeogenin and make good use of their characteristics.SOLUTION: A method for producing tomatidine includes an acid treatment step for treating tomatine with an acid to prepare an acid-treated material containing tomatidine, and a purification step for purifying the acid-treated material to prepare acid-treated extract. A method for producing esculeogenin includes an acid treatment step for treating esculeoside with an acid to prepare an acid-treated material containing esculeogenin A and/or B, and a purification step for purifying the acid-treated material to prepare acid-treated extract.SELECTED DRAWING: None
