Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling device using magnetic viscous fluid provided with a housing of a structure capable of increasing rigidity of a principal part of the housing even when manufacturing the housing by press working or the like.SOLUTION: A coupling device 100 includes: a shaft 1 formed with non-magnetic material; a disk 8 which is coupled to the shaft 1, is rotated integrally with the shaft 1 and is formed with magnetic material; magnetic viscous fluid 10; an electro-magnet 5 for giving a magnetic field to the magnetic viscous fluid 10; and a yoke housing 2 which stores a part of the shaft 1, the disk 8, the magnetic viscous fluid 10 and the electro-magnet 5 and is formed with magnetic material. Opposite parts 3a, 4a which hold the magnetic viscous fluid 10 of the yoke housing 2 therebetween and are opposite to the disk 8 are set as a recessed shape recessed to the disk 8 side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
