Abstract:
To provide a crank shaft having excellent fatigue strength.SOLUTION: A crank shaft 10 comprising a mechanical structure steel material includes a circular column-shaped sliding part 121, a fillet part 122 and a thrust part 123. The thrust part 123 has a quench-hardened layer on the surface. A difference Hb-Ha between an average value Hb of Vickers hardness measured in two positions of depths of 0.30 mm and 0.50 mm from the surface of the thrust part 123, and an average value Ha of Vickers hardness measured in five positions of depths of 0.02 mm, 0.04 mm, 0.06 mm, 0.08 mm and 0.10 mm from the surface of the thrust part 123 is 100 or less, wherein the Vickers hardness of the thrust part 123 is measured in a position of 2.0 mm from the end portion of the fillet part 122 in a radial direction of the sliding part 121.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
