PURPOSE: To provide an improved cross coil type driving drive for deflecting a meter by coils arranged orthogonal to each other which is in a simple constitution and easily adjustable.

CONSTITUTION: The apparatus is provided with an input resistance 1 connected in series to a sensor resistance 2, a sawtooth wave generating part 3 for generating sawtooth wave signals every predetermined cycle, a comparator 4 which compares a voltage at a contact point between the sensor resistance 2 and the input resistance 1 with an output voltage from the sawtooth wave generating part 3 and generates '1' when the voltage at the contact point is higher or '0' when the voltage is lower, and a buffer amplifier for supplying a current to two coils 5, 6 by the output and the inverting output from the comparator 4.
