PURPOSE: To suppress the temp. increase of guide shoes and the generation of wear and damage by disposing a pair of guide shoes to both sides of a rolling region of rolling rolls which are disposed with inclination and exciting the guide shoes during rolling.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of the rolling rolls 11 are disposed with inclination and a pair of the guide shoes 12 are disposed on both sides of the formed rolling region. A plug 13 is disposed to the central part of the rolling region and a pipe stock 14 is rolled. The exciting devices 19 and elastic materials 20 are interposed between guide shoe supporting bases 17 and base plates 18 of such rolling device 10. The guide shoes 12 are excited during rolling by the operation of the exciting devices 19 to instantaneously have the non-contact state with the pipe stock 14 of a high temp. The sliding friction time of the pipe stock 14 and the guide shoes 12 is thus decreased and the thermal load acting on the guide shoes 12 is decreased.
