To provide a crystal vibrator for which the leakage vibration of the crystal vibrator is surely, highly accurately and finely adjusted, and to provide a method of manufacturing the crystal vibrator.
The crystal vibrator has an external shape having a vibration leg extended from a base part and is provided with an electrode on at least one of the main plane and the side face of the vibration leg, and the electrode has an electrode thin layer part where the thickness of the electrode is thinned so as to reduce the leakage vibration components of the vibration leg. Since the electrode provided on the vibration leg is just provided with the electrode thin layer part and is not trimmed (removed), driving force to a vibration piece is not lowered. Thus, a CI value is not increased and the deterioration of the stability of vibration and the decline of the detection accuracy of an angular velocity do not occur either.
