PURPOSE: To obtain a curable oil-in-water emulsion which comprises a substantially homogenous emulsifiable aq. medium for substantially homogenous non-aq. emulsifiable compsn. by mixing an unblocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent and a surface active isocyanate reactive material.

CONSTITUTION: An emulsifiable compsn. is formed by adding triethylamine, a 10 wt.% dibutyl dilaurate soln. in acetic propylene glycol monomethyl ether of urethane grade, and an aliphat. polyisocyanate resin into a surface active isocyanate reactive material under stirring. To the emulsifiable compsn., water is added in 8 proportions at the room temp. The obtained mixture is stirred after respective additions, to obtain the substantially homogenous curable oil-in- water emulsion. The curable emulsion exhibits a milky white appearance, has a bluish color shade, and exhibits uniform consistency.
