Abstract:
To provide a cutting tool having properties improved for metallic mechanical machining equipped on a surface of cemented carbide, and a hard and wear resisting coating on a surface of a base material.
The coating is deposited by physical vapor deposition (PVD). The coating is made from metal nitride combined with alumina (Al2O3). The coating is made from a structure which is a thin layer and multilayer. This insert is further processed so as to provide various outside layers on each of a cutting face and a flank.
