To provide a cutting tool which can attach/detach a surface, to which the chips, etc., by the cutting tool are adhered, without using a fixing implement and an attaching/detaching tool.
The cutting tool has a housing 1 in which a driving mechanism is stored, a base 2 attached to the housing 1, and a blade 4 projected from a blade hole 21 of the base 2, and cuts a material to be cut by the blade 4 which is driven to reciprocate while the base 2 is moved being brought in contact with the surface of the material to be cut. The contact surface of the base 2 contacting the material to be cut is covered with a protective cover 3, which is to be a new contact surface, and the protective cover 3 is attachable to/detachable from the housing 1 or the base 2. An attachment/detachment means carrying out an attachment/detachment movement is able to carry out the attachment/detachment movement without using the different fixing implement and the tool.
