Title:
CUTTING TOOL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011230210
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a cermet-made cutting tool that is excellent in wear resistance and thermal shock resistance while having small deformation after firing.

The cutting tool 1 is made of cermet having a first hard phase, a second hard phase, and a binder phase. The cutting tool is configured such that a first structure, a second structure, and a third structure are present on the cermet surface. The first structure is formed in a region within an r from a cutting edge 4 so that an area ratio of the binder phase is 5-15 area%, that of the first hard phase is 20-55 area%, and that of the second hard phase is 40-70 area%. The second structure is formed in an M region from the end edge of the first structure so that an area ratio of the binder phase is ≤5 area%, that of the first hard phase is 0-30 area%, and that of the second hard phase is 70-97 area%. The third structure is formed from the end edge of the second structure to a flat part 9 so that an area ratio of the binder phase is 15-50 area%, that of the first hard phase is 5-20 area%, and that of the second hard phase is 50-80 area%. The ratio (M/r) is 1.0-3.2.
