Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (X is halogen, lower alkyl, or lower haloalkyl group; n is 0,1, or 2).
EXAMPLE: 1-Acetyl-3-cyano-4-(2-chlorophenyl)pyrrole.
USE: Agricultural and horticultural fungicides having improved after-effects.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with an acetylating agent, e.g. acetic anhydride, to give the objective compound of formula I. The compound of furmula II, wherein n is not 0, is a novel one, and can be obtained similarly to the compound of formula II, wherein n is 0, as shown in the scheme. The compound of formula II has also antibacterial properties.
