To produce a high-quality cyclic hydrocarbon polymer having an extremely low content of fine foreign matters, and to provide a preparation process thereof, a molding material containing the cyclic hydrocarbon polymer and a molded part prepared from the molding material.
A cyclic hydrocarbon polymer is selected from the group consisting of a monocyclic olefin polymer, a cyclic conjugated diene polymer, a hydrogenated product thereof and a vinyl cyclic hydrocarbon polymer and contains 3.0×104/g or less foreign matters having a particle size of 0.5 μm or larger. A preparation process of the cyclic hydrocarbon polymer comprises a step wherein an organic solvent solution of a cyclic hydrocarbon polymer is filtered through a filter having a charge-scavenging function.
