Abstract:
To provide a cylinder sleeve, easily joined to a block body constituting a cylinder block of an internal combustion engine by frictional stirring joining.
The inner peripheral wall part of a cylinder sleeve 20a is provided with a reduced diameter part 44 having a taper part 46 reduced in diameter like a taper. Meanwhile, the outer peripheral wall of the tip part of the cylinder sleeve 20a is provided with a large-diameter part 36a directing toward the outside in the direction of the diameter and formed to be projected. The cylinder sleeve 20a inserted in a bore 16 of a block body 18 is joined to the block body 18 through the reduced diameter part 44 and the large diameter part 36a under the action of a frictional stirring joining tool 50.
