Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder structure capable of reducing a dead volume of a piston engine and improving thermal efficiency thereof even if a sensor is being used.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a cylinder structure in which a cylinder head is provided with: a valve holding hole formed at an outer periphery side of the cylinder head for holding a starting air supply valve for supplying starting air to a combustion chamber when a piston engine is started; an installing part positioned at an outer peripheral surface of the cylinder head so as to install a sensor for monitoring a state of the combustion chamber; a starting air supply passage communicating the valve holding hole with the combustion chamber so as to supply the starting air from the starting air supply valve to the combustion chamber; and a monitoring hole branched from the starting air supply passage and extending up to the installing part to monitor a state of the combustion chamber under application of the sensor. The valve holding hole and the installing part are arranged at different positions in a peripheral direction around an axis line of a piston.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
