Abstract:
To provide a new cytoprotective agent for animal cells being widely applicable to transplantation of organs, operation, etc. and containing a new substance which has hitherto been unknown in a conventional technique as an active ingredient and to provide a method for protecting the animal cells by using the cytoprotective agent.
The cytoprotective agent is a completely new cytoprotective agent which contains a methylated catechin derivative as an active ingredient and has not been known hitherto. The cytoprotective agent enables improvement of a survival rate of cell after preservation and can widely be applied to transplantation of organs, operation, etc.
