Abstract:
To reduce the time of installation work of a damping device while maintaining vibration damping efficiency of an upper part building at an earthquake within assumption.
If a relative movement amount of a foundation 14 and an upper part structure 16 exceeds a predetermined value, a piston 32 provided at the end of a rod 30 contacts a pressed portion 58 of a stopper means 26 and the pressed portion 58 is pressed to the cylinder side by the piston 32. Thereby, the stopper means 26 generates a larger damping force than that generated by a damping means 24.
