To allow a vehicle to have improved riding comfort without a drop in steering stability of the vehicle by controlling a damping force in a way to decrease an apparent spring constant between a spring upper member and a spring lower member.
By setting a relative stroke X of the spring upper member with respect to the spring lower member when the spring lower member is lying at a neutral position in bound and rebound to 0, a damping-force correction control amount Fa is calculated in a way to decrementally correct the damping force during a process in which the relative stroke X increases in magnitude while incrementally correcting the damping force during a process in which the relative stroke X decreases in magnitude (S150). When a sum of the damping force Fd of a shock absorber 16 and the damping force correction control amount Fa is assigned to be a target damping force Ft (S160), a target damping coefficient Ct corresponding to the target damping force Ft is calculated (S170). Then, a control is executed such that a damping coefficient of the shock absorber 16 lies at the target damping coefficient Ct (S180).
