PURPOSE: To improve controllability for suppressing damping force by controlling an oscillation detecting means according to a vehicle speed and shifting the predetermined frequency range in a vibration detecting means to a high frequency side according to the increase in the vehicle speed in a controller in which a damping force generating mechanism is controlled according to a vibration constituent in a spring upper member.
CONSTITUTION: In shock absorbers 11-14 serving as damping force generating mechanisms, by controlling actuators 11a-14a built in the shock absorbers 11-14, generated damping force is controlled so as to be switched to three levels, in other words, to a high level, an intermediate level, and a low level. In this case, the first vibration constituent G1 related to a drive of a spring upper member is low-pass filter processed on the basis of outputs from acceleration sensors 21a-21d built in the spring upper member so as to be detected, while the second vibration constituent G2 is band-pass filter processed so as to be detected, and the generated damping force is increased according to increase of the first vibration constituent G1 and is reduced according to increase of the second vibration constituent G2. Then, central frequency of the band-pass filter is shifted to the high frequency side according to increase in a vehicle speed.
