Abstract:
To provide a method for efficiently compressing data.
This data compression method includes a step (10) of receiving an input stream containing a sequence of data components to be compressed, a step (20) for identifying a coding position, a step for identifying a compressed string containing a set of data components generated at the coding position, a step (30) for comparing the compressed string with strings of the data components at each of a plurality of predetermined matching positions to determine whether or not matching is present at each of matching positions, and a step (40) for supplying a pointer for identifying the compressed string, the matching position and the length of the compressed string.
