Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rightly reproduce a bit stream by easily and accurately performing synchronous management control of the bit stream.
SOLUTION: A detection circuit detects a boundary where reproducing times become discontinuous in the bit streams coded with a prescribed standard. In response to the detection of the boundary by the detection circuit, an inverter circuit inverts a specific bit in a header of the bit stream just after the boundary. Therefore, when outputting a decoded bit stream, for example, only by monitoring the specific bit, the boundary is easily detected. As a result, the synchronous management or the like of the bit stream is easily performed. The specific bit is contained in the bit stream. Therefore, the specific bit is detected to easily and accurately detect the boundary where the reproducing times become discontinuous.
