PURPOSE: To enable a data processor to display a cursor in its separated state from the specified position of a position specifying means and to improve the usability of a data processor by correcting specified coordinates by correction data and letting the corrected coordinate position be a specified position.

CONSTITUTION: When a pen 11 points out a point A on a display input device 10, a convensional method displays a pen cursor 30 passing the point A by a cursor line 30a parallel with the X axis and a cursor line 30b parallel with the Y axis. However the coordinates of the point A are converted by correction values ΔX, ΔY stored in an error coordinate buffer in this case, the pen cursor passes a point B moved from the point A by the correction value ΔX in the X axis direction and the correction value ΔY in the Y axis direction. Thus the pen cursor 31a formed by a cusor line 31a parallel with the X axis and a cursor line 31b parallel with the Y axis is displayed. Since the intersecting point B is different from the point A pointed out by the pen 11, the position indicated by the point B can be accurately checked without being hidden by the pen 11 and the processing of graphic formation or the like can be highly accurately executed.
