To reduce the load of input and output processings when reflecting the content of a buffer in a host computer to a database area on a storage device subsystem.
This method comprises steps of: determining, when an access request from the host computer is a write request, whether the write content is log information showing the content of a database processing performed on the buffer of the host computer or not; converting, when the write content is the log information, the position information shown in the log information to physical position information on the storage device subsystem by use of a transformation table showing the correspondence between the logic position information recognized by the database processing on the host computer side and the physical position information on the storage device subsystem; and updating the data in the database area of the storage device subsystem shown by the transformed physical position information according to the content of the log information.
