Title:
DATE-SPECIFYING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3614713
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately recognize a current week after the orbiting of WN information by detecting the number of times for allowing week number information(WN) to orbit the value range up to now from a past specific point of time.
SOLUTION: Z count is received form a GPS satellite as one part of a determination signal, where the Z count gives WN information and time in a week being reset to an initial value when reaching a specific upper limit value being increased each time when the week is changed. Then, the number of times for allowing the WN information to orbit in the value range up to now from a past specific point of time is detected. The transmission time of a determination signal is specified based on an obtained week and the received Z count. More specifically, the WN information for giving a total number of weeks with a week that begins from January 6, 1980 as the 0th week is sent from each GPS satellite. The WN information is in 10 bits for orbiting in the value range of 0 to 1023 by a period of approximately 19.7 years. The number of weeks indicates which week the WN information currently corresponds to starting from January 6, 1980.
