Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of spark between the brush and the commutator of the DC motor and to simplify the adjustment of the interpole by a method wherein two brushes being connected with diodes in series in the direction of the same polarity are provided being connected in parallel, and the interval and the width of brushes are selected to have a specified relation. CONSTITUTION:After two brushes 51, 52 are prepared and diodes 61, 62 are connected in series respectively in the direction of the same polarity, they are connected in parallel. At this time, respective values of the thickness S1 of the commutator bar 41, the thickness S2 of an insulator 42 between the pieces, the thickness B1, B2 of each brushes, the interval P between the brushes are so selected as the related equations (a), (b), (c) to be realized respectively. The center line between two brushes 51, 52 is so arranged as to nearly coincide with the center line of the field core of the N pole, and the density of flux in the gap of the interpole is set up to be sufficiently large. By this way, because when one side brush is to separate from the commutator bar, the current is already commutated to another brush, so that no spark is generated between the brush and the commutator bar.
