Abstract:
PURPOSE: To suppress streaking in a commutator surface due to the contact with brushes by maintaining the commutator temperature between 30 and 60°C.
CONSTITUTION: In a DC motor 1 incorporating an electric cooling fan 11, the surface temperature of a commutator 4 is measured with a radiation pyrometer 14, and the output frequency of an inverter 22 that feeds power to the fan 11 is controlled according to the output of the pyrometer 14.
