Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a beautiful decorative board having an emphasized grain pattern, by providing a colored opaque resin layer having small wood pieces dispersed therein to a base board and exposing the side surfaces of the small wood pieces to the surface of said resin layer while flattening said surfaces and further providing a transparent resin layer on said opaque layer. CONSTITUTION:A small wood piece dispersed colored opaque resin layer 4 formed by dispersing a large number of small wood pieces 2 in a colored opaque resin 3 is provided on a base board 1. As the small wood pieces 2, plate-shape, cube-shape or granular ones composed of a broadleaf tree such as an ebony or an oak and a needle-leaf tree such as a hinoki or agathis are used. As the colored opaque resin 3, a thermosetting resin liquid before curing such as a polyurethane resin or an acrylic resin is used. The greater part of the small wood pieces 2 are dispersed in the small wood piece dispersed colored opaque layer 4 on the surface side thereof to be exposed to the surface of the layer 4 and the surface of said resin layer is made flat. The exposure area of the small wood pieces occupying the surface area of the layer is set to about 10-90%. Further, paint composed of colorless or colored transparent unsaturated polyester resin is applied to the layer 4 to form a transparent resin layer 5.
