PURPOSE: To obtain a deformed staple and needle which increase performance and effect through variation of shapes thereof by forming flat projections on an upper surface or making width of the upper surface wider than that of a leg.

CONSTITUTION: Deformed staples are classified into groups according to purposes. That is, they are classified into a type having projections 5, 6 on a center poriton of an upper surface 2 of the staple 1, a type having a hole 9 formed on the upper surface 2 as projections 7, 8 as required, a type having an intermediate leg 10 for applying strong force to the projections, a type having a leg 12 bent for serving as the staple 1, a stepped portion 11 on an upper side of the leg 4, and the upper surface 2 whose area is enlarged, a type obtained by application to the stepped portion 11 of the leg 12 for floating a projection 13. The projections according to the purposes are formed on the upper surface for performing hanging, fixing and holding. Fixation force is increased because an area of the upper surface 2 is enlarged.
