Abstract:
To provide a novel degradable material which can be used for making environmentally friendly containers or packaging materials, and provide a novel method for producing the material, the containers and the packaging materials.
The degradable material comprises 30-90% by weight of a plant fiber and 10-60% by weight of an adhesive material, wherein the adhesive material contains a modified urea-formaldehyde resin and one or more kinds of polymeric materials. The method for producing the degradable material comprises a process for grinding the plant fiber to the size less than a prescribed one, a process for adding the adhesive material to the ground plant fiber and a process for mixing and heating the ground plant fiber and the adhesive material. The adhesive material is made from the modified urea-formaldehyde resin and one or more kinds of water-soluble polymeric materials.
