To provide a deinking agent composition or the like for recycling paper from waste paper, capable of efficiently obtaining recycled pulp of high whiteness with a low content of residual ink therein without a foaming problem by suppressing excessive foaming and by enhancing the capacity of collecting separated ink in the (step of) floatation treatment constituting the step of producing the recycled pulp, which composition is used in obtaining recycled pulp from printed waste paper resulting from news paper, a flier, a magazine, paper copies from OA machines, or the like.
The deinking agent composition for recycling paper from waste paper comprises 10-55 wt.% of a 12-18C alcohol and a deinking agent that removes ash. The deinking agent preferably is in a form of a compound represented by general formula (I) as follows: R1O-POm-(EOn/XOk)-R2. There is provided a method of recycling paper from waste paper for use in recycling waste paper wherein the deinking agent composition is employed, which method includes disintegrating and washing waste paper and subjecting the disintegrated and washed waste paper to a flotation treatment.
