To highly productively produce fiber yarn having an intended strength and firmness formed by winding nanofibers in a single or a plurality of layer(s) around a core fiber with the nanofibers firmly wound therearound.
A method of producing fiber yarn comprises: a process of transferring a core fiber 1 supplied from a means 3 of supplying a core fiber along a transfer route 2; a process of plying a fiber for forming first fiber yarn 12 by winding a first nanofiber 11 formed by way of a charge induction spinning method allowing a raw material solution comprising a polymeric resin of a melting point at least higher than that of the surface layer of the core fiber 1 to flow out of a plurality of small holes 24 disposed on the circumference of the moving core fiber 1, in a first means 5 of producing fiber yarn; and a process of heat-treating the first fiber yarn 12 formed by a first means 6 of carrying out a heat treatment, at a temperature at least higher than the melting point of the surface layer of the core fiber 1 and lower than the melting point of the polymeric resin constituting the nanofiber 11, to be carried out subsequent to the process of plying a fiber.
