To provide an electromagnetic relay 10 for bringing terminal parts into contact with each other behind start of energization to an exciting coil 12.
This electromagnetic relay 10 is equipped with: the exciting coil 12 formed by winding a wire around a coil bobbin 11 having a movable chamber 17, and fixed in a yoke 13 by a ground plate 14; a lower return spring 15 disposed between a fixed iron core 2 and an intermediate movable iron core 3; an upper return spring 16 disposed between the iron core 3 and an upper movable iron core 4; a cover assembly 5 forming terminal through-holes 53 and 54 in the circumference of a working chamber 51, and fitted to an opening of the yoke 13; terminal parts 6 and 7 having fixed contacts 62 and 72 facing to the inside of a cover assembly 5, and inserted into the through-holes 53 and 54; a moving contact 8 inserted into the working chamber 51 and facing to the upper side of the fixed contacts 62 and 72 by having its undersurface pushed by a shaft 44; and a contact pressure spring 81 disposed in the working chamber 51 above the moving contact 8.
