To provide a density-variable patterning device capable of weaving a peculiar density-variable patterned woven fabric with weft woven-in densities varied, and to provide a method for producing such a density-variable patterned woven fabric.
The density-variable patterning device includes the following: multiple divided dents 30 as a group 3A are collocated. Each of the divided dents group 3A is furnished with a recess 4 reducing the beating degree when beating a weft 2. Many actuator devices 6 functioning to vertically move the respective divided dent group 3A are set up on the reed 3 so as to switchable between such a condition that each of the divided dent group 3A beats a weft 2 as ordinary at a vertical position line S by driving each of the actuator mechanisms 6 and such a condition that each of the divided dent group 3A beats a weft 2 at a beating degree with the recess 4 small in size. Besides, a control portion is provided, having such a program as to control which of the divided dents 30 as a group 3A is vertically moved by selectively driving the respective actuator devices 6.
